These are the first two parts of a photographic series I made with 35mm films. My aim was to provide a complete and personal exploration of the small but complex continent where I live and wander seeking inspiration. I tried to focus on places and people, analyzing connections and influences arising from the interplay of different religions, races, habits.
People and landscapes around us are very old and rich of history. Each place seems unique but it shares common roots with many others.
We live in a society in which the fear of the unfamiliar, of the stranger is the consequence of a lack of self-knowledge and ofthe failure to investigate our origins.
(I took the liberty of borrowing the title from a song by Kurt Vile & Courtney Barnett)
